People in extraordinary circumstances respond in extraordinary ways. For better and for worse. From what we can read she had a nightmare day and when it rains it pours.

That's v true. And I'm beginning to get the impression that despite the glaring media spotlight, those nightmare days may be continuing in that same hospital. Which is sickening. But I'm reluctant to allow the 'system' to be a trump card which negates her actions w/o a transcript

The flaws in that hospital are common in most NHS Hospitals Some day again all the flaws will line up and another child or adult shall die. It’s as certain as a card player knows he will get a totally bad hand one day We need to make big changes in the cards, not the dealer

That may be mostly true but with respect it misses the point Gordon. Nobody is arguing that system flaws shouldn't be addressed. Of course we want all those things fixing too. We're not daft. We know it's only time before one of us loses another loved one if they're NOT fixed. 1/

So whoever's responsible for ignoring repeated warnings about such problems should be 1st in the dock, imho. And right next to them, you can put the consultant, dragged back from Ireland. NHS mobilise a legal army to issue EU arrest warrants against parents seeking better care 2/

But no such concern here? He swans off into the sunset unscathed, after first testifying against his junior. Blatant cover up by one of your own, but I see no mass call for action to hold him accountable. A regular event, but rarely so visible. 3/

All the action is instead about trying to allow a convicted criminal to continue being a doctor. And she is guilty w/o evidence to the contrary Gordon, no matter how many metaphors and analogies you offer us trying to suggest otherwise. 4/

This appeal is not going to alter her criminal conviction, even if successful and without access to that Crown Court transcript, none of us know what her 22 errors deemed 'truly exceptionally bad' really were.5/

Which can only mean that your support - and that of a seemingly unending supply of clinical commentators & financial supporters - must be blind, imho. How can it be anything else? It's not easy for me to understand. 6/6

We are all reasonable people but our narratives are different. It’s difficult to comprehend the effects of being a victim of medical error and the despair knowing it will happen to others. I realise that medics feel similar on behalf of colleagues.

Appreciated. V few GNM prosecutions of doctors to point at though (as compared to instances of patient harm, at least) do not sure how real that fear is. I agree about the differing narratives though. So true...https://twitter.com/c7rky/status/1022978427618570240?s=21 …
