Thank you - much appreciated. But I'm afraid that's the High Court appeal, rather than the original Crown Court trial. Is the other link you we're thinking of also for the appeal?

Imagine coming into work not knowing how many people you'll be looking after or with whom you'll be doing it. Now imagine finding out that your role changes and that people who you thought where not under your care suddenly are. Imagine that some are actually very very sick.

It could have been me and that's no stretch of the imagination or extension of professional courtesy. It could have been me and I don't think I'm negligent. It could have been me and I'm not a bad guy.

As much as I sympathise with what you've said here (and I really do) I think we must be careful not to suggest 'everyone would've done the same', when we don't know the full details of her truly exceptionally bad 22 errors. Bolam demands reasonable, but GNM is not reasonable.

People in extraordinary circumstances respond in extraordinary ways. For better and for worse. From what we can read she had a nightmare day and when it rains it pours.
-
That's v true. And I'm beginning to get the impression that despite the glaring media spotlight, those nightmare days may be continuing in that same hospital. Which is sickening. But I'm reluctant to allow the 'system' to be a trump card which negates her actions w/o a transcript

The flaws in that hospital are common in most NHS Hospitals Some day again all the flaws will line up and another child or adult shall die. It’s as certain as a card player knows he will get a totally bad hand one day We need to make big changes in the cards, not the dealer
-
That may be mostly true but with respect it misses the point Gordon. Nobody is arguing that system flaws shouldn't be addressed. Of course we want all those things fixing too. We're not daft. We know it's only time before one of us loses another loved one if they're NOT fixed. 1/

So whoever's responsible for ignoring repeated warnings about such problems should be 1st in the dock, imho. And right next to them, you can put the consultant, dragged back from Ireland. NHS mobilise a legal army to issue EU arrest warrants against parents seeking better care 2/

Tell me about it. I don't control the staffing - only deal with the onslaught and aftermath.
