The other end of the scale is 'mild autism' plus a plethora of other bulls**t labels they've dreamt up to make normal kids' behaviours into medical conditions. So I'm not sure putting 'normal' in the middle quite works tbh.
I insist on having normal in the middle - so if for 'analytical versus empathic' you place 'analytical and non-empathic' in the 'Asperger's box' you have to put 'very empathic and not at all analytical' in the box at the other end. Then the question is -what labels the other end?
PS - before I disappear for my cuppa - I'm with you on the [all-too-often - not invariably, but for some] BS labels and conditions which 'they've dreamt up'!
I'm led to believe 'conditions' are voted into existence at conference? A show of hands from those with a vested interest & not a scientific threshold in sight. They would've got away for it too, if it wasn't for those pesky replication principles.
