Whoever those people are that you have in mind Ken, from whom you feel the need to be safe... they're the ones I want. To have them feel our collective hand on their shoulder whilst being asked to explain themselves. They should be dragged out and publicly held to account, imho.

I wouldn’t be looking for retribution / punishment, I would be looking to facilitate contemplative reflection on their activities, to provoke real learning & behavioural change.

It starts with real accountability for me. And I don't mean for honest clinical errors - we're all human. My focus is the cover ups and those responsible for them. If through such actions they have knowingly exposed others to risk, I believe punishment is entirely appropriate.

other than to say registered nurses are professionally obliged to advocate for patients, not employers / other HCP’s. That is what they must do and what patients should expect.
