Dear doctor colleagues Hi! How are you? I am fine. Hope you’re having an interesting day. Yours, An acute medicine consultant

No such subtext intended, interesting days are some of the best ones in the job. Although most days are interesting ! Having said this was one of my fave books as a teenpic.twitter.com/DhnjbqMpUZ

Sounds good! I think my tweet was an exhortation to be nicer to each other! (Thanks for your contribution!).
@C7RKY & others are of course right though, that it should not extend into covering each other’s backs if something has gone wrong. New thread on THAT today. -
Yes, sorry - we did rather go off at a tangent and gatecrash the original message, on reflection. Those tweets would probably sit more comfortably on the other thread - which I'd missed actually, so thanks for the heads-up. :)

It made me reflect again on how important it is to get the balance right. My Mum was always very wary of doctors when I was a child, describing how they “close ranks” if criticised. I’ve never wanted to be *that kind of doctor*....
-
And trust me when I tell you... it shows. You stand out for all the right reasons, so we have a lot to thank your mum for.pic.twitter.com/g493HAG4MD

Lol. She follows me on Twitter, so might even read that! (Thank you....!)

Ha! Tad harsh, Wayne. I'm absolutely sure there's no intent, but I've equally no doubt that unintended 'curses' are unlikely to help such things.

Again... not fallen off my chair in shock. You never struck me as a 'sit back and watch to see what happens' type of guy.

Ooh... your timeline should be one to watch today then? Another example alongside 'safe space' where they're trying to pull up the drawbridge & retreat back into the castle of self-preservation. Are you going to be 'live-tweeting' events?
