Our 'learning from safety incidents' resources describe a critical issue - what happened, what CQC and the provider have done about it, and the steps other providers can take to avoid it happening in their service http://bit.ly/2KwuwS4

May I ask; what provokes the creation of these resources? They obviously don't cover all safety incidents, so how do you decide which are worth creating the resource for? Thanks.

Hi John. The issues covered in the resources related to our enforcement work. The idea is to share what happened and what CQC and the provider have done about it so that others can learn and take any necessary action to prevent similar incidents themselves.

When new resources are prepared we'll share them via our monthly newsletters for providers. You can sign up to receive them here if you don't already https://bit.ly/2JwNnra

That's great, thanks. 2 thoughts: 1 Trying to understand what you mean by 'enforcement work'. Is it somehow distinct from inspection work? 2 You presumably uncover more examples than you're able to create resources for? How do you 'triage' these & decide which deserve a resource?
