Since 2009? Is there anything other than elongated, corrupt, bad experiences to be found re NHS complaints? The only reason it's allowed to fester is they fear public reaction to the reality of healthcare being exposed more than they fear criticism of its complaints procedures.

Well in this case, 'the firm' (strangely appropriate sounding) write it off as protection money, it seems. It's not like they have to pay for it themselves either. At worst, bonuses might not be so account-stuffing come the end of the year.
