Idea is to create debate - so yes. However, beyond sharing the fact that the article in
@HSJnews exists I won't be commenting myself- as it's Scott's thing. (He'd love to know what you think and is happy to chat if you have time).2 replies 0 retweets 2 likes -

There are no protections for patients in the safe space, only staff.

I agree with safe spaces for staff"patients, families etc. Understand need to feel safe, supported when discussing sensitive conversations, 'failings'. How much faith does everyone have in others deciding what patients, families are told, receive? History shows this to fail.

The root question is what do ‘We’ need to be safe from? Staff fear losing their job or legal action, what do patients fear what needs a safe space for them?

Patients fear having to take legal action to get the truth, fear fighting “the system”, fear it happening to others, fear no learning.

There’s no fear re legal action and it’s not usually even a thought at the start. You truly believe the NHS will say ‘jeez whats gone on here, let’s sort this out’ You don’t know it will be a fight until you’re in it.

Exactly. We don't even know we have anything to fear but the medical condition itself until it's too late.
What do I fear now? I fear those 'helping' us will only make it easier for HCPs to cover-up.
I am a patient & this is my voice - I do NOT want #safespace for clinicians.
