>> Of course, this detail in section 4.8 of the Williamson review omits what is most likely the largest number - cases which are derailed by the police a long time before they ever get to the CPS. Refusing to register the report as a crime is not unusual. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/717946/Williams_Report.pdf …

30 years from now we'll get honest statistics from various (yet to be opened) inqueries as to the numbers of preventable deaths and incidents of gross negligence manslaughter during that same time period. But but "blame culture".... ffs
-
If we get anything honest from these people, it will be because we took it from them. They will not give it to us. That's why for me, the focus needs to be on the plethora of organisations they've built to make it look like they're regulated, when we know otherwise. The enablers.
-
I agree. Top of my list of enablers is the coronial system. Just a dreadful unregulated, unaccountable system that works with impudence against families in cases of medical negligence.
-
My journey hasn't taken me there yet, but from what I've read about it over the years, I can understand your focus.
