1998... shipman cases gaining traction, question being asked by others, why GP not picked up sooner is just unbelievable. The medical profession should have been acutely aware of the possibilities of others - there is doctors out there who accepted this practice - i am certain.

The report highlights that the quantity of opioids being used at this hospital and trend should have been picked up. Plus pharmacist was checking drug charts on the ward so I’d expect them to pick up on potential over-treatment. However, ward pharmacists then had more of a >>

focus supply side of meds generally speaking, and weren’t necessarily checking clinical use like we do now.
