I read the second link and it does nothing to contradict the McClatchy piece. Your piece makes it clear that "New York" did in fact pull the "lethal" language, which clearly was weaker than the original

The ultimate stance they took was weaker than the first proposal, but the stance ultimately was still stronger than the original GOP platform prior to restructuring. Nothing "pro-Russia" about it. It was simply less bellicose.
