Fmr WH spokesmen @AriFleischer and @mmccurry recommend daily briefing, but no longer live TV. http://ow.ly/n6Rh30d2HTa pic.twitter.com/kwaLyFTEg7

You all understand that the only reason they are being cut back is that Trump was jealous of the attention Spicer and Sarah were getting.

That is one of the most lucid suggestions I have heard in a long time. With no camera and no live audience, all the grandstanding would end.

It's 2017. There are cameras everywhere. Grandstanding for the camera is everywhere. Get over it. Like the embargo idea though.

The flu is everywhere too. You can accept it as some sort of new norm if you so choose. Not me. But thanks for the advice.

Americans in '17 want their govt to speak to them on TV. It's our political culture now. Trump (and you) prefer the 50s, but they're over.

If live TV is "embargoed" the journos could use the *DAILY* briefings as PART of fact gathering for a story, instead of it BEING the story.

Did most ever care abt the daily press brief before Trump? He made it into reality TV even touting the ratings. Not fair to blame press.

Certainly agree with no cameras. Why do we need to see the Press secretary? Audio is good enough.

After seeing press ask endless "gotcha" questions, or repeat same question 7 times, I wonder if email might be better.

A sad dereliction of most basic duty of civil service; public transparency. Super easy for any WH admin...except this most incompetent one.

So this is where we're at - Trump cultists defending not allowing cameras at press briefings, because hard questions might be asked.
