@TPCarney what is it about this that you don't understand? The claim is untrue, but Rs refuse to engage the *larger* debate over the law.

@ByronYork don't know how to answer this, b/c it's a counter factual. But I'm where Chait is generally http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2013/10/you-like-your-plan-you-can-keep-it-sort-of.html … -
@ByronYork think I'm right in claiming many Rs won't even engage the broader argument over whether tradeoffs are worth it? -
@ThePlumLineGS Whether Obamacare hurts more people than it helps, or vice versa, is *the* political issue. Just starting to be engaged now. -
@ByronYork But you do agree that many Rs are refusing to acknowledge the tradeoffs, Right? -
@ThePlumLineGS Not really. News is negative now. That's the story. If story changes when subsidies start flowing, conversation will change. - 1 more reply

@ByronYork You should do an piece on the GOP's plan to get the uninsured coverage at an affordable price. -
@CaptG2@ByronYork That wd be a pretty short article. I remember one Sen. called DeMint suggesting that the uninsured shd use ERs.#useless -
@brehz0@ByronYork The GOP's Achilles heel, no plan to lead. Very frustrating that the "Party of Ideas" has regressed to this point. -
@CaptG2 Not GOP fan but absence of intelligent counter point bad for whole process. Increase in minorities=big pol changes next 10 yrs imo
