In House impeachment debate, GOP Rep Jordan noted that Dems running debate today objected to Electoral College certification in 2017. Dem Rep McGovern, a 2017 objector, responded that that was just 'a protest vote' and 'none of us pushed conspiracy theories.'

Did McGovern introduce lies and conspiracy theories after an attack on the US Govt, as part of his objection? Or did he just record an objection?

They weren't pushing conspiracy theories. They were protesting specific, real issues. The first was new laws enacted in Alabama that made it more difficult to vote.https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/23/us/politics/voting-rights-alabama.html …

The second was Russian interference in the election, which was confirmed by every intelligence agency and separate investigations by the Senate and Robert Mueller. All of these turned up hard evidence of interference. Compare with investigations of voter fraud in 2020: 0 evidence
