I think you’re missing the point. It’s not that the kids are irredeemable; they’re kids. It’s that their behavior reflects with clarity the unambiguous message they are receiving from authority figures; in this case, the president.

Oddly enough, my high school friends and I never surrounded an elderly veteran and taunted him.

#AtThatAge I was applying for an ROTC scholarship to earn my way through school. Sure I did dumb stuff like stay out too late or sneak to a party but would have never thought it funny to dishonor an elderly veteran or any human beings regardless of age, religion, or ethnicity. - 7 more replies
