I'm always trying to create, share, and teach content that focuses first on #accessibility, because I would not be where I am today had many people not taken the time to try novel solutions to make content accessible to me. And finally, if you're stuck... (7/8)

what encouraged me the most was when I stumbled upon communities of coders (#rstats and #python in particular) who embraced my questions and never cast shame. Accessibility was a dominant theme, not a footnote. That's why I love content like @allison_horst's materials. (6/8)

I knew that in order to break into the fields about which I was most passionate (econ / finance), I needed these skills, but I felt like I had missed the bus on all the underlying technical knowledge required. Self-teaching all of these skills to catch up was tough, but... (5/8)

I recall in particular being so overwhelmed studying econometrics while abroad because I had never really learned the basic #stats required, so I staid overnight in the library many times, desperately trying to self-teach all these concepts from textbooks, all on my own. (4/8)
