Were taught from grade school that boys attentions are more important than ours. I remember teachers being so rude about dress code to girls esp my one friend. She used to get picked on all the time usually by female teachers too.
-
I didn't have that experience. Honestly, the girls in my town ruled the boys. They would never try to cross us. When I started college I was raped. I was too naive, and thought most men were like my hometown peers.

i was at a festival a few weeks ago and a girl was groped by a guy in the passing in the crowd. just like that. he kept moving and she hit him but he didnt care. but the look on her face was one of shame and hurt. she cried and looked so humiliated and he didnt care.
-
for him it seemed like sth normal, he was tipsy and didnt care. but the entire hour i saw her, she didnt go back to feeling normal. she kept looking around and never got rly comfortable again. that really stuck with me.

Because girls and women’s suffering and pain is never recognized as real; not important, exaggerated, imagined, self inflicted, dismissible, and embarrassing

Boys are taught to slay dragons, and you get the girl. There's no "No." in story books.
