Was thinking about some comments others have made regarding making a resource for those who are questioning transition / detrans or seeking other ways to relieve their dysphoria other than transition. You def. need an IT expert. Wordpress and others are no longer safe.
-
Luckily I have many years in IT, so that's one thing I can bring to the party. Website under construction.
-
videos , snippets , blog posts , essays , events , twitter feeds , news etc would all be great

Body dysmorphia is not body dysphoria. I have dysphoria. That means my brain doesn't match my body. Transitioning IS the "cure" for dysphoria. Body dysmorphia means you see a warped version of yourself that no one else sees.
-
The two are separate. However dysphoria often starts with dysmorphia (can also start from internalised homophobia or social contagion). Transitioning is not a 'cure', and is not an appropriate treatment for most sufferers. Recognise that, then people can get the help they need.

What exactly would this charity be doing to "stop" these teens? What kind of therapy would be offered and by what kind of mental health professionals? Would this be a program teens enter into voluntarily or are their parents going to force them to go?
-
All good questions. Research into therapies that work will be a key charitable aim. Trained psychotherapists and counsellors are out there and want to help as soon as the BS 'conversion therapy' issue is resolved. It's best not to try to force teenagers to do anything.

I have a girl who would have transed had she been born in a different family. Things that helped included learning about women's history. Schools tend to ignore it. Girls aren't exposed to it usually. They need to feel proud of their sex. See opportunities. Feel strong.
-
Yes. When are we going to see Women’s History Month (March) celebrated and marked in schools in the UK? Or even International Women’s Day?

Hi Keith. You have my support. Kids self diagnosing as trans and demanding medical treatment on that basis is a very dangerous thing. DM me if I can help
-
Thank you Bob, will do.

Don't involve yourself in things you clearly have not researched and do not understand.
-
Great advice. For you. Take it and go away

I'm transgender. I completely understand my medical condition. It's my lived experience. I live with severe dysphoria, I deal with it daily. This man can't even differentiate between dysmorphia and dysphoria.
-
What is experience that is not lived? All experience is lived. I’m a woman, and I’ve f-ing lived it my ENTIRE life. So remind me of your point
-
My point is that dysphoria is real and that transition is the "cure" for it. I'm physically female. I'm mentally male. Just because detransitioners exist doesn't mean that all trans people are confused/delusional.
-
I believe dysphoria is real. I believe biology is real. I don’t think anyone should be limited by their biology; I don’t think anyone should be oppressed because of their biology.
-
Cool! That's nice for you! I'm transitioning so that the inside matches the outside! Not sure how else you think I should deal with my severe dysphoria, but thanks!
-
There are thousands (likely millions) of us who experienced GD, know what it's like, overcame it, & as a result, *know* that "transition" is not only *not* the only "cure," but also that "transition" often makes GD worse.
