Of course they are! If they contradict rigid-opinions or "final-word" science, they show those are wrong. If wrapped-up as "case studies" they can show other people extra options available to them. Sometimes they can be evidence that practitioners of all sorts are out-of-date.

My anecdote is my personal evidence. My anecdotal evidence resulted in friends taking charge of their health by embracing LCHF. The GP of my T1 friend is learning from his needing less insulin & keeping his BG stable, & this is helping the GP in treatment of T1's in his practice.
