What’s with naming Forts for enemies‽ May a well have Fort Rommel or Fort Tojo.
-
They were mostly named after WWI and in the 1940’s. Their locations were heavily segregated still and likely named as a way to oppress even after the battles were lost.

We in Germany don't have a Fort Alfred Jodl, Fort Friedrich Paulus, Fort Wilhelm Keitel nor a Fort Josef Dietrich, --also no plaques or statues of these butchers and ass crawlers.pic.twitter.com/7THdov2Zrb

Summer of 1965, I was 10 yrs old & first visited Germany - Munich, Garmisch - and Dachau. 20 yrs after VE Day. Every German I met seemed so nice. Little history nerd that I was, I wondered: how could this have happened? 1/x
