Because what trans kid will ever come out if they can't get medical care, will be turned in to their unaccepting parents, and will be powerless to stop every bigoted adult at school from verbally abusing them? 8/n
Oh, and lets not forget that the law requires teachers to turn in any student they suspect of being trans? How is a kid NOT going to end up being scarred living in constant terror of being found out? And the mandatory reporting parallels to even darker times than the 30s... 9/n

A kid being bullied, harassed, and abused by adults with authority over them is already EXTREMELY bad, but it also models that behavior for the other kids and invites/encourages them to do it, too, both to that kid and in general, making it exponentially worse!
