Which way around do you expect to see the operands to a MOV command in assembly?

“mov src, dst” is just as much x86 assembly as is “mov dst, src” though. It just depends on which assembler you’re using which is considered the default...

You're right: I had to be more specific/verbose When I wrote x86 ASM, I obviously (for me) meant X86 ASM Intel syntax, for x88/86 (and successive) Intel CPU architecture. That's why I wrote "Personally" and "I expect (hope)" talking about x86 CPU with Intel like architecture.
