    Definitely not. Completed my PhD at 42, tenure 10 years later (not unusual for med school PhD), named professor now

    Is it ever too late to do a PhD? I've just finished an MPhil at 34, and want to take a couple of years before I embark on a PhD (largely so I can find the *perfect* one) Is this career suicide?

    My last 2 NIH summary statements have said as a weakness (though clearly not score driving) that I have “multiple commitments.” I have decided to reframe this feedback with gratitude and thank the reviewers for noticing that I am thriving in a soft money environment.

    TAF is non inferior to TDF for PrEP and it does not have any significant clinical safety benefit over TDF. TDF is safe and effective and may be cheaper soon!

    Unexpected problem w/my new car. It's too nice. I can't bear to drive it anywhere that has a pothole. So it sits in my garage, pristine.

    “The clinical trials only included people with no treatment failure or resistance — will we expand the treatment beyond this group? What will it cost?” These are important questions - the value is likely greatest in those with prior treatment failure, what is their price?

    The FDA did not approve long-acting CAB/RPV for HIV Rx, surprising everyone. But when -- not if -- it's approved, it will be a great leap forward, and raise a ton of interesting questions. h/t Latest post:

    This is a wonderful system but unfortunately our recent experience with IRB is that there will be many, many stickers backed up under IRB - how do you have 0? Especially acceptance of single IRB for multi-institutional trials - we need to do better!

    ⬇️This is how I keep track of all the publications I am working on.⬇️ For me, it works better than Excel as I look at it daily & see what stage I am in for each paper. It keeps me focused. (Thread)

    Is this true BUP-NX not on formulary at Vanderbilt ?

    My beloved East TN in the news. TN is a wonderful people and land that struggles w OUD treatment and policy. DYK buprenorphine-naloxone is not on formulary at Vanderbilt U. Med Ctr (just heard this from a Vandy doc)?

    Long-term course of opioid addiction. Review article Hser YI, et al. Harv Rev Psychiatry. 2015

    Does anyone have a good source/idea of an age at which many people who have injected opioids are less likely to do so? Are 65 year olds as likely as 50 year olds to continue to inject? I only see data on younger people.
