The medical community cannot ignore and belittle patients who were circumcised as infants who now speak out as adults that they are horrified this surgery was done to them without their informed consent. Attacking them now is an affront to patient autonomy and medical ethics.

This is where I think we blur the lines between religious ritual and medical science. Correct me if I'm wrong but there is zero medical reason for performing this surgery. Isn't this more cosmetic and religiously motivated than medically necessary?

My son developed an infection under his foreskin. If we had not done the circumcision, be would have become sterile.
