They are afraid to condemn it, because that would be admitting all their past crimes and exposing themselves to huge legal liability. We can hope for staged retraction and rejection over a generation, till the guilty doctors are safely dead.

By issuing pro-circumcision manifestos American doctors have in effect pardoned themselves against legal action for their crimes.

Or, at least they’re trying. They can’t verily recommend it without taking an unfounded position against the most respected medical organizations in the West.
