    I had also forgotten about the crazy intro video TiVos play on boot. Rokus have something similar with an anthropomorphic logo, but nowhere near as elaborate.

    It’s a bummer how lousy analog compressed video looks. I was also surprised to learn my TV actually has an S-video jack.

    Planning to embark on a video archiving project so thought I’d test with the old TiVo. First time powering it on in about 10 years and it’s working great.

    The case has some kind of unusual header for LEDs and power button that doesn’t match the motherboard, so I’ll need to power this up with a paperclip. I do not miss ribbon cables.
