@Brock_McEwen only way to reconcile flaperon and INMARSAT as genuine is the flaperon coming off early in the piece. Maybe around the FMT(s)? -
@MuOneOz Perhaps - depends on how easily a 777-200ER can fly without one flaperon. I defer to aviation experts on plausibility of that feat.

@AuntyConspiracy I believe so. Counterclockwise current, so boat had huge head start on flaperon. May also have had significant freeboard. -
