In the middle of working on a new collection, but I’d rather be at home reading secondary sources...

Rewatched Boardwalk Empire and Harrow’s outcome is just as painful to watch now, as it was when it first aired. Still unprepared, hoping for a different outcome...

Curator by day, historian at night. Currently in the middle of a new research project and my house is reflecting it. Dust balls the size of my cats are rolling around...

Research request done and in the mail, exhibit 75% done, and collection policy 80% done. Things are moving slowly, but it’s getting done!

If you don’t have an economics degree like Greta, they’ll mock you for not having one. If you DO have one, as I do, they’ll claim it’s illegitimate. Haters gonna hate & deniers will deny. They will deny logic, science, and environmental consensus in order to protect oligarchy.

Ink all over my hands... I started journaling again, for the first time since I was 15, and it’s incredibly freeing.

Studying what you love is okay. Ignoring advice from boomers about what to major in is okay. Obsessively reading about a very obscure aspect of history is okay. Not knowing this second what you will "do with that" is okay. It's your degree, boo.

What do historians do if they're not working as teachers & researchers? Where can you go for advice when your mentors only know the tenure track? Register & learn tools to use in a life outside the classroom.

American history textbooks are shaped by partisan politics — and then shape the next generation of voters. See how California and Texas students encounter different histories of the Second Amendment, civil rights, capitalism, immigration and more.
