Brisbane Airport’s home carrier will be the first airline to depart on Brisbane’s new runway when it officially opens on Sunday, 12 July 2020. 🛫#runwayiscoming
⚠️📢 Due to flooding of runway access taxiways, the legacy runway is closed. All air traffic is using the new runway through Sat 26 Feb and possibly overnight. Whilst the new runway isn't used for flights over the city between 10pm & 6am, operations may be unavoidable tonight.
First aircraft over the Dryandra Road Underpass ✈️. This taxiway connects the new runway to the terminals and yesterday passed over the underpass to conduct radio frequency tests ahead of the new runway becoming operational 12 July.

Korean Air will fly to BNE five times a week, with Korean tourists set to inject more than $120 million dollars into the local economy each year. The new flights begin in April, and is the latest deal signed under Qld’s Attracting Aviation Investment Fund which turns one today.

📅 On Monday: Cross runway 14/32 is decommisioned early as part of BNE's new runway 'Operational Readiness & Testing' phase.
📅 By Friday: Decommissioned runway used for aircraft parking.
We're feeling all of the emotions right now.
