Crazy. This "laughter free" post-whatever virus also totally discredits the idea that pain, emotions and stories are ALL INSIDE laughter, that's the whole point! They apparently believe laughing is laughing AT something or someone- they have no internal world of their own.
(1) Laughter-free comedy. God almighty. Lost the parents in 2013. So stressful that in early 2014 I had the second gastritis attack of my life. It feels like you've been eating bayonets and broken glass.
1. My great-aunt died of a brain tumor. When I was taking care of her at home, I started having anxiety attacks seated in the pit of my abdomen, something I never had before. BP through the roof.
2. I still have them -- less intense and without the high BP -- but I discovered that prayer and Vitamin C wipe them out. I theorize that spiritual deficiencies -- such as fear -- manifest themselves in the abdomen.
3. Fear is a stronghold for the Enemy. You are right to rebuke it.
(1) I finally lost what I thought we would be my indestructible fear of flying. Now I can easily contemplate auguring in and being blown into atoms. Doesn't bother me at all.
(2) I'm situationally aware--because I want to see the world in thirty years--but I don't fear illness or pain or violent death. I get e-mails that make threats, and I suppose that a person might follow through, but I'm armed just to take as many of them with me as I can.
(3) When my elderly parents were the victims of a home invasion, the cocky criminals wilted and begged for mercy. At the time, I was trying to decide the best place to shoot them.
Also, I did stand-up in college, I bombed horribly any number of times. Was I actually ahead of my time? Did I do post-comedy before post-comedy was cool/stupid/absurd?
That was pre-post-comedy.
preposterous
I believe they used to call that "performance art."
Can’t wait for post-life.
This made me laugh, so already you failed
Sorry honey, you're too funny to do comedy.
funny rant Bridget but there’s nothing false about this piece. YouTube Stewart Lee you’ll get my meaning. Comedy isn’t just about laughs—ofcourse it can be and is the most popular of forms. From Parrhesia to Mark Twain, Lenny Bruce and Carlin, uncomfortable truths are at core
Comedy ALWAYS includes laughs. Subject matter varies and can be uncomfortable but if you take the humor out - it is no longer comedy. The article is pap.
