Biden has always had a reputation as a fair & honest negotiator in the Senate, and GOP always preferred him to Obama as VP. I wonder if new problem is surrounding himself w/ much more progressive WH advisors, & Dem Congress gallopping leftward. He's trying to please everyone...https://twitter.com/ryanstruyk/status/1409198548919504898 …

... After all, Biden has always been more of a consensus guy in the middle of wherever the Dem mainstream happens to be. So he's comfy negotiating bipartisan deals, but wants to please Hill Dems & staff pushing left. Needs to better assert himself & be less malleable & reactive.

I like Biden. Always have. But I must admit it feels like he would have had more of his personal stamp on things when he was 5 or 10 years younger.

I like to think I am objective, and I never understood the level of dislike the GOP had for Obama. He was not radical in action as POTUS, but it’s like they *expected* him to be. No?

I think this is exactly the problem. His governing is a lot different from how he ran his campaign.

i think especially staff. a few months ago susan collins called out Ron Klain for demonstrably shaking his head in disagreement with a point Biden seemed to agree with. when i was on the Hill a staffer would have gotten reamed for that.
