    1. In this thread, I pull out the interesting facts I learned from the incredible Energy and Civilization by Vaclav Smil. I’d pitch it as a quantitative Sapiens - one of the best books I've read in ages

  3. Do 18650's vent gases generated during formation? I know about CIDs can permanently disable cells that over-pressurized during cycling, but can they vent excess gas during manufacturing?

Surprising to me but interesting! I don’t have a clear vision of how plug-in hybrid electric vehicles fit into the future

Ira Bloom's Differential Voltage Analysis series is such elegant electrochemistry. A must read for anyone working on full cells

I've only ever watched CGPGrey, Primitive Technology, and Binging with Babish, but I've always felt like YouTube is a fantastic platform for creatives. This list looks like a fantastic place to start for anyone tech/science minded

Software people are lucky they can power through working on a problem until it’s done. I am physically constrained by the rate at which carbonates infiltrate a porous coating and it is incredibly frustrating

I always thought the quantum in quantum physics came from the dramatically named UV catastrophe! Turns out it was a different blackbody problem; awesome thread!
