The curse of technology in the future will be that the technology works so well it freaks people out.
As the device and computer disappears we will be left with a more than “uncanny” true #VoiceFirst personal assistant.

The issue with duplex wasn’t really about it being ‘uncanny’, it was about it being duplicitous. There seemed to be a deliberate attempt to deceive the person being called to ensure they carried out the task it wanted them to.

Very true. We need to talk about the ethics of AI now, and get that discussion down to the developers creating and using AI. I’ve worked in Software Eng for a while now, and rarely hear ethics discussed as part of projects.

Gillian, yes! There are so many dimensions to this. I think one very large one Rene and I talked about was AI as a human Proxy using our very own voice. I thought about this for a few decades, there are many discussions we need on just this aspect...
