The issue with duplex wasn’t really about it being ‘uncanny’, it was about it being duplicitous. There seemed to be a deliberate attempt to deceive the person being called to ensure they carried out the task it wanted them to.

Growing pains here. The tech is coming and exciting but well worth a conversation and discussion about the implications. Voice in general has been a humanizing tech as it's inherently one to many vs generally one to one phones/laptops. Duplex gets back to one to one (differently)

Roger, indeed. I fully agree. There are a multitude of elements from privacy to legacy on how the next technology revolution will play out. I think there cant be enough discussion on it.

Growing pains for sure... seems to me that it’ll be those that are fixated on old patterns of being that suffer the most... I’m fascinated by the implications of these things on childhood development and how youth will process these transitions.
