advertising builds brands. Brands help people know what to want/ask for. Won't change much

Tom, I hear ya. There is no classic advertising in #VoiceFirst devices. Google admitted this in the article.

There being no new advertising in a niche new device won't "Kill advertising as we know it". Advertising has barely changed

Tom, indeed. If just 10% of the device population use #VoiceFirst daily they have not seen/heard the same ads they would have.

Tom, additionally. It is important to note the smartphone was called a niche market up to ~2010.

Brian, in 2007 Nokia sold 7m of one type of smartphone ( N95 ) I was there.NOBODY in the space ever thought it would be niche

Tom, wise insight at the time. However the common assumption was "mobile/touchscreen is niche" = "Voice is niche" today.

That was never the assumption outside the backwards US market. Voice is niche is based on people not liking it much.V Diff
