@markuhde Mark, again your insights. Here are the facts: 'UK NFC usage is 330.8% over the year' Why? EMV UX Fail http://www.theukcardsassociation.org.uk/contactless_contactless_statistics/ …

@BrianRoemmele contactless is awesome and in the UK people acknowledge that. Doesn't mean contact is bad. That said I use contactless (1/2)

@markuhde Mark, what does mean if the UK had EMV for quite some time and in a year move NFC up to over 300%. They not like EMV is valid.

@BrianRoemmele it means contactless is faster and more convenient. I didn't deny that. I only denied that contact posed a major issue.

@markuhde Mark, the EMV UX fail in the US will be massive. The befuddlement will be magnified because of the 'do I swipe or Dip here' issues

@BrianRoemmele follow the prompts? It's not that hard to read the screen.

@markuhde Mark, I have observed very cute grandparents take out reading glasses from a purse and take 3 minutes to read the prompts.

@BrianRoemmele they do that with magnetic stripes too. My granny can't use a card on her own at all anymore. She doesn't have the agility

@BrianRoemmele since in Ireland you never know what to do as most shops don't take @AmericanExpress as a chip but have you swipe it.

@markuhde Mark, again to my point. Why customers and merchants are fleeing to NFC and soon #ApplePay.

@BrianRoemmele it's not fleeing when something easier and more convenient comes along. And again it isn't a choice in the US. I WISH it was

@markuhde Mark, you validate my points. You can choose your own words on what they are doing. But they run from EMV when there are options.
