🔮 By the close of 2029 the computer, device and screen will disappear. What is left is the situational and contextually intuitive AI that is primarily #VoiceFirst with ephemeral and as-needed video. “Invisibility” will define the 2020s. #CES2020https://twitter.com/BrianRoemmele/status/1213680655571120135 …

🔮 The #AdhesiveComputer will become a fundamental part of the next ambient & spacial paradigm shift that define the 2020s. Placed in modules on the body, the concept of a device & screen disappears. What is left is situational video and the #VoiceFirst interface. #CES2020 https://twitter.com/brianroemmele/status/1213668099049680897 …

I believe in the contextually relevant AI part, but I don't believe in screens disappearing. The visual system (reading) is a far faster method of acquiring information. Voice relatively sucks for computer system output, and different input than output in IO is often also weird.

Roppe, I hear ya, an experiment. Read this sentence. Ok now observation. What took place? A data conversion. To what? Listen. It is a—voice. You are hearing it right now, your silent inner—voice. Thus the question is, how are these mechanical conversions better? Go direct.

Lol no. #VisualFirst. We will never lose our highest input communication with computers, until we will get a direct human-machine communications protocol... If you think otherwise, you don't really understand how communication works...

I hear ya. What is the highest human communication protocol? What is the work product of human intelligence? What have humans evolved to use over 15 million years—not 150 yeas? It is what you hear in your head at this moment, a silent—voice. Nothing is faster.

Christopher, I hear ya. The interesting thing is the only thing those technologies use is—voice. It can use no other coherent part of the electrical brain’s work product. It’s called the phonological loop. The left hemisphere it is the silent voice you hear now reading this.

Brian, I truly wish that this would lead us to a Star Trek like future... unfortunately given the record humanity has of using innovation for power/control I expect something dark to appear. We already have a surveillance machine in place via AI/BigData.

Do you see any reasons to be optimistic? Are there any forces with a vested interest in making this inventions positive for humanity?

Taking screenshot to troll you visually on a screen in 2030 my friend. Humans have evolved to have better eyes than ears and Biology > Technology 🙌🏽🤷‍♂️

Ajit, I hear ya. You know this is true for threats and prey. Yet the largest part of the left hemisphere is given to the phonological loop. We gave up most of our short term memory for it. Humans communicate through speech not pictures. We use pictures to archive.
