Does anyone know more about this 1984 edition Apple Card: was it for use to purchase Apple products only or a general purpose card? @BrettKing @Chris_Skinner @dgwbirch @pbarbe @LedaGlyptis @embeddedfinance @BrianRoemmelehttps://twitter.com/brianroemmele/status/1211090328813326336 …

I’ve been using this example in my talks ever since Apple announced its credit card! Last attempt wasn’t particularly successful and card was withdrawn after a few years. Big part of a new digital propositions is use of data and good UX.pic.twitter.com/ZAqyk62IBi

Thanks for sharing! So the original 1984 version was a business credit card to buy Apple products based on above ad (plus some limited T&E options as per
@BrianRoemmele)?2 replies 0 retweets 2 likes -

Seems like it! I would love to know more about its ‘outside’ usage tho! Totally different approach/business model!

Markos, thanks for asking. Apple product sales were mostly sold aT dealer networks. When they started version 1.0 of the Apple Card it was to help remove price resistance of Apple products. They let dealers add other products and some pushed this to restaurants even hotels.
