That’s really interesting, was reading about linen the other day. Why was the linen discarded, replaced with softer cotton for bed sheets?

Jason, thanks for asking. The linen was the peoples clothing after the plague. It was made by Flax and would wear out to the point it could not be worn—to rags. This was precisely what papermakers needed. And it was a perfect recycling use case—before anyone cared.
