Jack, Indeed. Yet the line between the two have blurred. It is entirely possible for a small scale startup to build using this API and gain traction on it and at some volume point convert to MFi. This is quite a landmark for Apple and will spark new innovations.

Now they need to provide an api to Apple TV. Painful to launch apps on there. Siri works on phone but not from HomePod. I wan a camera based presence agent that lights up app/channel when I am around ;-)
