Consider the term Blueprint in use today. Most think it has something to do with blue lines. It’s a photographic technology invented by astronomer John Herschel in 1842 when he heard of photography. Thanks for the response and follow I appreciate it. I understand now how the colors are generated but what about the original thought? Was there a visual need for this process or did this occur through chance via experiments? I’m curious why?

Blake, thanks for asking. If I understand the question correctly... The iron in the mixture of chemicals created a cyan-blue color. These were the best photo sensitive chemicals at the time.
