It was 1996 and we made the Macintosh sing with HyperCard. But why? I was researching affect & emotion and this was the foundational work to impart these human traits in computers. Noah, thank you! Indeed, a group of us voice nerds were working on this. I knew it was one of the most important milestones. Just like today, the wrong folks are leading all these platforms and still can not see why. They just see a computer singing. Some things never change.
