Brian, what do you think about the future of Cortana? or more in general, about Microsoft strategy in voice assistant realms? Do you agree with my hypothesis: https://twitter.com/solyarisoftware/status/1190970364836417536?s=20 … ?

Here an old article (Feb 2019), but the question is still open:https://www.theverge.com/2019/7/25/20727129/microsoft-cortana-features-strategy-report … Facts: 1-Microsoft didn't really give birth to a smartspeaker program, "pulling out" Harman Cardon device. 2-Cortana has been "removed" from Windows pic.twitter.com/Y32GArZudsShow this thread1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

and btw, with my sincere understanding, I don't see a clear approach in Conversational AI. E.g., on one hand MSFT Research do splendid researches in this space (see
#Xiaoice), and on the other hand, Bot Framework is a spaghetti-mix of stuff. I do not understand the big picture.

Giorgio, indeed it is heart breaking to me. This is what happens when there is arrogance at the leadership levels. This impacts all tech companies. There is a lack of vision. It is hiring practices that value either management trialing or technical training. None will help.

“Vision is nothing without execution” might be true but it is frequently deployed by people with no vision to shame and position themselves above people who do

Top management thinks of themselves as “idea guys” (and it is mostly guys) and want worker bees to implement their grand Gartner approved magic quadrant “strategies.” Big companies biggest weakness is ideas. Which ideas, when and why
