You know what I don’t understand @BrianRoemmele ?
There’s such an opportunity for Google to provide the preeminent platform for 3rd party #voicefirst sellers. (Amazon’s goal=keeping users on their platform)
Why isn’t Google creating a marketplace for voice? What am I missing?

Michele, thank you. A great question. You know it comes down to leadership. You need to hire leaders with vision that have proven to know history and proven to have predicted the future. This with a will to build. This is not who they hire. The Google HR test would decline them.

Google has a habit of • releasing things that look like products, • pumping them enough to get traction, • waiting until people think they are serious and integrate the APIs, • then dumping the products Because they’re an ad company And just don’t want to be shut out

Could it be that people are starting to differentiate on device machine learning from services based off of a higher percentage of data collection? Personally preferred Google Home to Amazon Echo but stuck with Siri once John Giannandrea jumped over.

Is it because people have grown wary of letting Google know every bit of their lives or is it because Google has nothing much to sell unlike Amazon and Alibaba?
