Yes, as I recall it was a visit by Steve Jobs to Xerox that gave him many ideas that he later "borrowed" to incorporate into Apple tech.

Folks, it seems that everyone borrowed from Xerox PARC as well as Bell Labs and other pure research facilities. What is interesting is the stuff they never saw and could not borrow. I have a treasure trove of this stuff I hope to publish.

Yes, it was only rediscovered in pieces in the early 2000s. The entire platform was secret for many years. You are using plies of it right now.

Great question. We all got the benefits and Xerox did not get the credit. This is why I surface this stuff. Archeology for technology that could/should have been but wasn’t.

I need to write a book about this and the reciprocal of how current tech companies are operating. In Xerox’s case is is many things, one is failed vision of leaders. We see this today at some very large tech companies. It come down to hiring the wrong folks with the wrong “tests"
