So I assume if these guys can pull it off...most major militaries in the world are already pulling it off? and possibly even way more refined...

Indeed it is. It is orders of magnitude more advanced. Even this material, this is version 3, we are at version ~20. It is so advanced, I am certain you already saw it, you just don’t know you did. We live in very interesting times.

I already have trouble finding my phone, how does making it invisible help? What would be the point?

John, I hear ya. There are many elements to this. One is design, we can make the phone blend with the world around it. And thus the phone, although not entirely invisible can be made of any materials in any manner as it will bend the light around the design. There is much more.

I’m with @ArgentumStudio on this one. Looks like a sheet of plexiglass with prismatic optical diffusion engraved into the surface. It’s going to give a gaussian blur effect to any object behind it. If you stand back a bit it’s going to effectively **blur you out.** cont.—>

That said, any “invisibility cloak” is effectively an optical illusion. Outside of the realm of wizards, any science based invisibility cloak will—simply put—bend light around a target object, so you’re going to do that with lenses / optics: i.e.: an optical illusion. cont.—>

Seems like it works better if the subject is a minimum distance from the material

I’m still trying to work out how it works, I think it almost has a “focal length” for the area it bends light around and is most effective at invisibility. The really crazy thing here is it does a stellar job of making someone almost as wide as the panel itself disappear!
