No one can explain to my satisfaction how a material object can go such distances without bumping into SOMETHING that obliterates them. But that’s just me.

That is truly awesome. I retire from where I work in March, having worked here for 42 years, exactly contemporaneous with the Voyager program. The fact that the computers have been operating my whole career here is sublime.

It’s a real testament to the fundamental ingenuity of everyone on that project. It’s rare today that hardware/software is constructed with such a long time frame designed in from the start, especially in today’s agile computing environments. I am fascinated by it.
