@BrianRoemmele do you have any misgivings about inserting these things (any of them ... not specific to echo) into the sides of one’s brain? The more sophisticated they get, the more concerned I become that my kids shouldn’t have them in their head 24/7.

Michele, thanks for asking. There is very clear evidence that folks below the age of 13 should not have any significant radio frequencies near their heads continuously. There is also evidence it may not be a good idea for just about all of us.

I haven't seen a teardown of the echo buds. Do they have an optical sensor for heart rate? SpO2 for pulse oximetry? Or do you think it is more related to voice than measuring something on your person?

Neil, thanks for asking. The first thing is pedometer. The next is pulse sensing from the internal speakers sending out a inaudible sound pulse and reading it back. The other stuff will be later.

I have had mine for a week and they are amazing. Fit is perfect. Works so well with my home automation. Used them for directions. Big fan!

Echo Buds as predicted by me in 2018 will have a hidden biometric system and software released in the next few months.
