Well Apple devices would be too expensive for a giveaway promotion and they didn't originally offer access to Spotify...plus they would attempt to switch the user to Apple Music. Amazon would be a reasonable partner but are now number 3 globally for music streaming providers.

The competitive angle is what I'm most curious about... where can Spotify go when most of the voice assistant hardware companies offer competitive music streaming services.

the lowest churn paid subs across streaming access music via the most # of devices; the highest LTV customers want ubiquity not a walled garden

We are moving toward another walled garden era right now. However, if you don’t know which garden will win or if many will survive, serve all of them and make the best of it since Spotify can’t likely win the Garden wars.

well, if I can express my desire, as citizen, as music listener/maker, as (conversational app) designer/developer, I'd like to return to the web paradigm (== tech/business outsides the walled gardens).

What do you mean Bret? Building a new castle is not my goal. Business (not only music) goals of big players wallet gardens conflicts with people freedom. Maybe private/private wallet gardens are a better option, in the way @MonicaSLam & @gcampax claim:https://twitter.com/solyarisoftware/status/1142378106013081600?s=20 …

My point was simple. If you want a voice ecosystem that is not a walled garden you may have to build it yourself as no one else seems interested in this approach today. If consumers truly want an independent ecosystem, it will be an astounding success.

Folks, Bret is accurate as always! Indeed this is the quagmire. It sometime I predicted and why I have built #TheIntelligenceAmplifier not only for open but local and secure and a new idea of how these systems should work with monetization built-in. It will change everything.

Hey Brian. Didn't realise you had thought about a business model for #TheIntelligenceAmplifier. Do you mind me asking about how you'd monetise?

Carl, thanks for asking. Indeed. There are 18 out 300+ ways that will be part of the first phases. There will be no reason not to build on it. The builders keep 90% ultimately. I will say more hopefully soon. Nothing will be the same.

Thanks for the insight Brian. This feels like a play for a tokenised ecosystem. Something that I've been building towards also... ...I could also be completely wrong!
