I reviewed dozens of high school papers that have scored below a C grade with errors that were primarily from autocorrect and “grammar” systems.
One paper would have had an A grade if autocorrect did not introduce 87 errors.

Annie, great point. This is a part of every high school class now in California and has had little impact.

sadly, "little impact" seems to be part of teaching teenagers. I just think its misdirection to blame phones for it.

Annie, I hear ya. No blame, just an empirical observation leading to a solution that works. The other stuff I let better minds then mine deal with. I just want to se these kids do better and this has changed them and created the awareness in a way that nothing had before.
